My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment. I aim to provide a space where clients feel supported in expressing and processing their emotions. My goal is for you to feel safe, heard, and seen during our time together.
I incorporate therapy approaches depending on the need presented. I use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) for clients to work toward taking control of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while creating healthy coping mechanisms. Using DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), I strive to empower clients to understand their emotions, incorporate positive changes, improve relationships, and decrease harmful behaviors. I use SFT (Solution Focused Therapy) to encourage clients to identify problem areas and achieve solutions.
When I work with children, I use play in therapy. I am in the process of working on my Registered Play Therapy (RPT) credentialing. I believe that play is a form of communication for kids. As commented by Garry Landreth, “Toys are children’s words and play is their language.”
